21st Century Skills for Professional Development Online is a short course being conducted at the Petroleum Institute in Abu Dhabi. The purpose of the course is to help teachers improve their autonomous learning skills by helping them to participate in the annual TESOL-sponsored EVO (Electronic Village Online). This blog intends to help them do that by giving participants a place where they can post reflections or comments on the course or their discoveries in EVO sessions simply by sending email. What could be simpler?
Speaking of simplicity, the course follows the simple precepts of Stephen Downes, that teaching is to model and demonstrate, and that learning is to practice and reflect. A blog gives learners a place to round out the four parts of the percolation between teaching and learning.
All the artifacts for the course can be found here:

Our first face-to-face class meets today, so today we’ll try to set up how participants can join this blog and post their thoughts, comments, and reflections here.
